Unexpected problems - unexpected solutions

edelweiss-4Today, for a change, I wasn't woken up by Heinz, the rooster in the neighbourhood. But by sore muscles. Intense, severe muscle soreness. I woke up too early - and tired to the bone. And also a bit in my soul. The reason: yesterday I moved tonnes of material with several others...

But first things first.

The seminar room currently has dark screen-printed panels on the floor. The cork flooring is still missing for more brightness, softness and above all for more warmth underfoot. It has already been laid in the bedrooms. And it looks beautiful. We actually wanted to lay it in the seminar room at the same time and asked the owner of the large boat next to me if we could store the timber from the seminar room in his unused boat in the meantime.

That was actually the plan...

Then it all took longer than planned and we didn't get it done in the spring. And not right now either. Because the good weather was perfect for putting in skylights...and then we had the problems with the sewage, which cost us almost a week. And because before we can do the floor, the ceiling has to be installed and, above all, painted. And the electricity had to be ready first...

In the middle of all this, we received an email from the owner of the neighbouring boat telling us to clear out our equipment... because he also shows the boat to visitors... phew.... right, really stupid....I totally understood him - he wants to sell his boat and show it to interested parties in good condition. And we took advantage of his hospitality for our wood for a really long time.

Nevertheless, I was super frustrated at first. As the ship is already pretty well built, we hardly have any storage space left. And wood is sooo heavy. I didn't even know how I was going to manage it. And then I remembered: a group of helpers had signed up for Wednesday evening. I thought: I could clear the wood store together with them. And that's what we did: from 5 to 9 p.m., six dedicated people and I hauled and sawed wood and other materials and also organised, sorted and cleaned.

2016-09-08-06-41-46For me, it was such a gift that the group came at just the right time. I thought of a promise from God in the Bible „Even before they call to me, I will hear them!“ That was the case in this instance. And I am grateful.

The electrics and ceiling in the seminar room still need to be finished. Once that's finished, all the wood that's left and that we've stored temporarily has to be removed. And then the cork floor can finally go in. And hopefully the new one too Wood-burning stove....but that's another story...
