A peaceful 1st May
Sometimes you do wonder what you’re actually doing. For years, I’ve been working alongside other Christians to ensure that 1 May in Berlin passes off more peacefully. Through prayer, a church service, or simply by doing practical things like clearing away bottles or talking to people. You can’t measure the impact of prayer – yet I have a feeling that, thanks to what we’ve done, this 1 May was one of the most peaceful in a long time. And I’m just grateful.
The Press reported very positively on the open-air church service this year – I gave a sermon there and the journalist really listened. You can even find a bit of it online have a listen.
And anyone who wants to can even – with our help – do something practical for Kreuzberg. Picking up litter in parks, for example. That’s part of it too.
When two souls share the deepest warmth of their hearts, freely and selflessly, far removed from expectations and constraints – that is true friendship.
I like that… thanks.
