The second book I’m writing is *Friends. Simple + Moving.*.
You can get involved here too.

I’m looking forward to your answers. In the „Friendship is…“ series, we list the authors by their first name and the first letter of their surname. So you’ve got a chance of being mentioned by name in a book.

  5. My absolute favourite novel on the theme of friendship is *The Silk Fan* by Lisa See, published by Blavalet (2007). It is a moving story about the friendship between two women in 19th-century China.

  7. Dear Kerstin,

I’ve written a story myself about my very best friendship. I think it’s lovely – probably because I wrote it myself. :) I reckon it’s too long for your Quadro (?), but if you’re interested, I’d be happy to email it to you.

    Best wishes, Steffi
P.S.: Thank you for your efforts on 1 May

  8. Hello Kerstin,

Here are a few thoughts of my own:
Friendship is when you know even the last 10% about each other and still love and cherish one another and call each other friends.

Novel: Job’s Brothers by Rebecca Gable

Film (many of you will be outraged now), but: *Sex and the City*! Carrie and her three friends, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda, experience the ups and downs of New York’s high-society life together! What struck me about this film was the friendship between the four women; they’re completely different, each with her own lifestyle – but that doesn’t stop them from speaking their minds honestly, being there for one another and then forgiving each other again…

    Best wishes, Steffi

  9. Hello Kerstin,
You’re like a good friend to me; I’ve already benefited a great deal from your insightful thoughts, your activity booklets and your Quadros. That’s why I’m delighted to be able to be of a little help to you for a change.

    1. FRIENDSHIP IS THE SPICE OF LIFE
(because life would be pretty dull without friends. And every single friendship adds a unique flavour to life.)
    2. I’ve just read a self-help book on friendship: *How to Win Friends* by Dale Carnegie. First published in 1937. It has sold millions of copies and contains some good insights along the lines of „The only way to have a friend is to be one yourself.“ Overall, though, I didn’t think the book was that great, as it sometimes comes across as a bit manipulative. There are more recent self-help books on friendship available on Amazon.
    3. Novel: *Ronia the Robber’s Daughter* by Astrid Lindgren
    4. Film: Winnetou and Old Shatterhand
