Internal cancellation or ...

The latest figures are alarming: only 9 % of people in Germany are still emotionally attached to their work. The situation is hardly any better in Austria and Switzerland. Many resign internally or change employers. But there is a way out.

The latest figures from Gallup are alarming: only one in five people trust their own manager.
In other words: 80 % have no confidence in their leaders.

The result: dissatisfaction, more sick days, frequent changes, work to rule - without passion.
That's the bad, really bad news. For many individuals - and for our entire country.

I am very touched by this because I know how much suffering this means for individuals who suffer under poor leadership - and for our entire countries.

But the figures also show:
Leadership has an effect - either strengthening or weakening.

You may not be able to change the people in charge - unless you have a managerial role yourself.
But you can change yourself and how you deal with the situation:
through Self-management.

💡 What does self-management mean?

Self-management means controlling yourself clearly and consciously - in your thoughts, feelings and actions.

This means:

  • Know yourself and your emotions well
  • regulate your own impulses
  • make conscious decisions
  • Take responsibility for your actions

Self-leadership is in your hands - unlike the leadership of others, which you can never fully control.

🌀 Why self-management is so important right now

In uncertain times, companies and individuals need people with inner clarity and stability.

Those who can lead themselves give others guidance. This creates trust - and that is the basis for effectiveness.

Studies show: Self-management is the key competence in agile and complex working environments - not just for managers, but for everyone.

🚶 How you develop self-leadership

Self-management can be learnt. It starts with small steps:

  • Pause regularly: What do I think? What do I feel? What do I need?
  • Practise making conscious decisions: Do I have to react immediately - or can I breathe for a moment?
  • Take responsibility for your inner life - before you act on the outside.
  • Get support for reflection and inner processes, e.g. through Coaching.
  • Make a Courseto get to know yourself and your emotions better and learn to control them better.
