Mechanical Engineer / Engineer Stuttgart area wanted for 1 day

2014-03-28 17.23.38You’d like to help out with my boat, but you’re too far away – for example, in the Stuttgart area. No problem! Right now, I need a mechanical engineer, an engineer or a skilled DIY enthusiast for a few hours to help me get a water treatment system up and running again.

Background: A year ago, someone removed a water treatment system / desalination unit from another ship and brought it over to mine. Unfortunately, that person wasn’t clever enough to put the system back together straight away. And I wasn’t clever enough to realise that. Now I’ve got a pile of loose parts and I don’t know how they fit together.

The system is currently in Stuttgart/Riedenberg because – once it can be put back into operation – it will be inspected by a water company there before we reinstall it.

I’ve got the instruction manual for it – for someone who knows their way around machines, it shouldn’t be too difficult – I reckon we’ll have it up and running again in no time on Saturday.

I paid 2,500 euros for this gem – it’s not exactly a trivial matter that it needs to be up and running again soon.

If you’re a mechanical engineer or a talented tinker – or know someone who thinks they’re up to the task – please get in touch with me – that would be a HUGE help and a massive boost.

  1. Why don't you send that to SMD Stuttgart and SMD Karlsruhe … it might be really helpful. You can easily find them online…

  2. Hello Kerstin,

I wanted to ask if you’ve found a mechanical engineer for your water treatment plant. If not, I’d think about whether I can think of anyone, or I’d ask a few more people. I’m from the Kirchheim/Esslingen area, so it’s practically round the corner, but unfortunately I don’t know any mechanical engineers among my friends. But as I said, I could have a look around again if you’re still looking.

Best wishes, and I hope you at least get to enjoy a peaceful and blessed Easter break.

Thank you very much for always keeping us up to date with your thoughts and the progress being made on the ship.
I’m looking forward to seeing you in Esslingen in May.

    All the best to you
    Anette

    1. Hello, dear Annette,
Two mechanical engineering students have come forward and said they’d like to give it a go. If that doesn’t work out, I’ll get back to you… THANKS!
Best wishes – see you soon!
