What words can do

At the book fair in Leipzig, I got talking to an employee of a publishing house. Her publishing house publishes, among other things, small cards with graphically designed Bible verses. She told me about an encounter with a customer.
"The man was looking for our stand. He was in a very bad way at one of the previous book fairs. He was about to have a life-threatening operation. He came by our stand and picked up one of our cards. The following text was written on the card: "I will not die, but live and proclaim the works of the Lord." (Psalm 118:17).
For the man, this was not only an encouragement before the difficult operations. It was also the beginning of a path to faith. He began to pray and find his path of faith."
Working in publishing can sometimes be very isolated. You sit alone behind your computer. Communicating mainly electronically. It's stories like this that give me new strength to keep going. And joy. Words can change people's lives. Powerfully.
