Collapsing stacks of books and taking small steps
In order to raise the money needed to fit out the boat – around 200 euros a day for materials and labour combined – I rent out
I occasionally rent out my bedroom to tourists visiting Berlin. And then I sleep in the office myself.
I also sell as many second-hand books as possible. The pile of books for that is in the office too.
Everything came crashing down last night. I’d probably piled them too high. In the middle of the night, whilst I was asleep, the pile toppled over. It made a loud noise. Luckily, it landed right next to the mattress I was sleeping on. Not a single book fell on my head! I’m very grateful for that.
Just imagine the headline in *BILD*: „Publisher killed by a pile of books!“
But one thing is clear: I should reduce my book collection as soon as possible to prevent any further mishaps of this sort. And on top of that, every cent goes towards the ship project.
If you’d like, why not have a look around – you might find something you like! You can find all the books I’m selling here.
You can then order the books directly. Or you can get in touch with me via a comment or email – that way I don’t have to pay any sales commission. Just let me know if anything takes your fancy.
There’s also the option of the fantastic Postcards by Rainer Zilly to buy – and in doing so, support the ship as well. Find out more here.
Hello Kerstin,
I ordered a book today via your Amazon link and hope that helps you a bit too!
Thank you… and OF COURSE it helps… every little bit that I don’t have to carry myself and that makes a difference is a gift.
I’d also like to contribute a few books, as a sort of donation, so to speak.
And there are two books I’ll buy straight away, even though I don’t know anything about your project: *The Signature of God* and that book by Shane…
Best regards
Hi, Sprotte… it’s great to hear from you… Unfortunately, Shane’s been sold today… I’ll put the other one out for you… just pop round… best to give me a ring first… all the best…
